Blessed with Patience !

Shalom Dear Friends !

Although a topic we've all been exposed to, I thought it edifying to 'share' this recently emailed morsel of Motivation via the Patience of God from the National Assn. of Christian Ministers. Short, Succinct,
and indeed 'Motivational'.                        ENJOY  !!!

Happy Motivational Monday Pastor,Bill,

We pray this email finds you doing fantastic!

So what is Patience? According to Google, Patience is defined as "the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset".

With that definition, Patience is a hard attitude to maintain! We were surprised by the exact definition of patience. It isn't just being kind of okay with waiting. It is accepting even suffering without becoming upset!

As born again Christians, we have received and been filled with the Holy Spirit! Patience is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This Motivational Monday, we wanted to encourage both you and ourselves to develop a deeper understanding that we are called to be patient and to tolerate hardship.

Proverbs 15:18 (NIV) says "A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel." Practicing the virtue of Patience will restore relationships, and will stop fights.

Another interesting Bible Verse discovery we made is the first way that Paul describes love is being patient in the famous scripture of Corinthians 13. Our greatest command is to love one another, and being patient with each other is a manifestation of this love!

Our God is patient. God has and is displaying His patience with us as shown in Peter 3:9, which says:  "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Finally, we reflected on being still and having patience with God! Psalm 37:7 (NIV) reads "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."

God bless you as you wait for Him with Patience!

Sincerely,

Abby and Anna :)
