What a day of UNITY in full celebration of Pentecost/Shavuot we experienced this past weekend on the New Hampshire Seacoast. ' Baruch HaShem ' ....... Praise G_d !

With some of our Fellowship joining me at my Home Church of Advent Christian Church in Eliot Maine for Sunday services, after service fellowship (awesome) at our little Church on The River,

we 'caravan-ed' to meet the rest of our brothers and sisters in YESHUS / JESUS for further celebration of His Feast of Shavuot !

I shared a quick overview of Biblical 'Shavuot' countenance before we

shared this awesome day of Holy Spirit celebration

The Feast of First Fruits (Yom HaBikkurim)

Leviticus 23:9-14

Historically, the Feast of First Fruits was the day that the

Hebrew slaves went down into the Red Sea and emerged

alive on the other side, while Pharaoh was swallowed up

by the Red Sea. This set the Israelites free as the First

Fruits from Egyptian bondage. The Feast of First Fruits

falls on the day after the Sabbath, during the week of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This is the first Sunday after

the fifteenth of Nisan/Aviv. When God brought the children

of Israel into the Promised Land, they were to bring

the best first fruits of their harvest and present them to

the Lord. Josephus records that the people did not partake

of the harvest until the first fruits were presented (Antiquities

of the Jews 3.10.5). It is unfortunate that modern

Christianity has come to call this feast Easter, whose name

is derived from the Babylonian Goddess Ishtar.

Yeshua, the First Fruits Fulfills

Feast of First Fruits

“But now Moshiach has been raised from the dead, the first

fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came

death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Moshiach all shall be

made alive. But each in his own order: Moshiach the first

fruits, after that those who are Moshiach’s at His coming,...”

— I Corinthians 15:20-23

Yeshua is the First Fruits. Yeshua is first in order and

preeminence, just as the offering of fruits is to be the first

and the “best portion”. He was resurrected on the Feast of

First Fruits, the first day after the Sabbath.

“Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the

first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other

Mary came to look at the grave... And the angel answered

and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid; for I

know that you are looking for Yeshua who has been crucified;

He is not here, for He has risen, just as He

said...’” — Matthew 28:1, 5-6

Yeshua also being The High Priest and always one to observe

the Feasts of Israel, gave a first fruits offering of

people!

“...and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the

saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming

out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the

holy city and appeared to many.” — Matthew 27:52-

53.

The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost; Hebrew: Shavuot)

Leviticus 23:15-22

God instructed the children of Israel to count seven Sabbaths

from the day after the first Sabbath during the Feast

of Unleavened Bread. The day following the forty-ninth

day is the Feast of Weeks, on the 6th of Sivan. The forty nine

days are called “The Counting of the Omer”. They

connect the Feast of First Fruits (the barley harvest) with

the Feast of Weeks (the beginning of the wheat harvest).

On the Feast of Weeks, a wave offering of two loaves of

bread made of fine flour and leaven is presented to the

Lord.

Some scholars believe that the giving of the Law to Moses

and the people of Israel occurred on the Feast of Weeks.

Holy Spirit Given on the Feast of Weeks

Following His resurrection, Yeshua appeared to His disciples

and told them to wait in Jerusalem until He sent

forth “the promise” of His Father (Luke 24:49).

We know the Ruach (Holy Spirit) was given exactly fifty days following

Yeshua’s resurrection, because the New Testament

clearly mentions that it occurred on Pentecost.

“And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all

together in one place. And suddenly there came from

heaven a noise like a violent, rushing wind, and it filled

the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared

to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves,

and the rested on each one of them. And they were all

filled with the Holy Spirit...” — Acts 2:1-4

The two loaves of leavened bread offered to God during

this feast represent the Jew and non-Jew together as one

body in Yeshua. The fine flour in which the loaves are

made represents the perfect righteousness of Yeshua. The

leaven represents the sin in the lives of the Jew and the

non-Jew until Yeshua’s return.

If the scholars are correct about the giving of the law to

Moses, the Feast of Weeks depicts both the giving of the

law and the giving of the Holy Spirit.

Charlie joined us after his Salvation Army Services, and our Brother in Messiah, Tim Rivera

made sure to hook up with us between Intercessory Prayer Events !

A  HEALTHY  CHURCH

Blessings Brethren !

What a beautiful day to attend Sunday Services at that ' Little Church on the River ', Advent Christian Church In Eliot, Maine. And I guess it was very 'appropriate' that Pastor Charlie Downes' message for the day was ' A Healthy Church ' !   ...... certainly no easy task with our culture's spiraling moral decline. Perhaps some day we'll ALL clue in to the fact that when 'The World' takes out G_d, The Evil One anxiously moves right in !

But there I go again, headed off track, and preaching to the choir !  Advent Christian Church & Pastor Charlie Downes....' A Healthy Church, the message was! , .. A Healthy Church, Advent Is ! '

The beautiful thing about Advent Christian and Pastor Charlies Shepherding style that is such a major contributor to the health of this church (which has close to doubled in size over the past 18 mos.) is indeed the fact that Pastor Charlie is a True Discipler. Pastor Charlie well knows, and shows, the Godly Message that there are indeed 'many' parts of the body !  And to maximize the production of the body, each congregant member, each 'disciple' has been blessed with very special Holy Spirit Blessings which must be allowed to and encouraged to, fluorish & contribute their blessings and ministry to the good of 'The Body', and to His Glory !

So Today, we are very Blessed to feature the ministry of Advent Christian Church Member, 

Ms. Peg Byrne !    and we have fondly name her Ministry Initiative , ....... " PEG's CLOSET "

We've been able to help Peg distribute the mostly 'new' & 'gently used' clothing

Why The Biblical New Year Starts This Week – Rosh Chodashim

The Biblical New Year starts this Friday with the first NEW MOON.

The new moon – when the moon is HIDDEN and the stars shine ever more brightly – is the beginning of a new lunar year according to the Bible.  Fourteen days later, when the moon is full, the first and MOST Holy Day of the Biblical year is Passover.

In Judaism, and even more so for believers in His only begotten Son, the first of the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20 begins with, “I am ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”  

Did you ever imagine that the God of the Universe would demand that we let Him be our God by allowing Him to schedule our time and space?  That is one of the amazing and often overlooked messages of the Bible.  God orders the entire universe, and He wants you to trust Him with your time.  He created night to rest and day to work.  He made our bodies to work for six days and to rest for one day, and He demands that we REST!  By resting we show we trust Him because we have a loving relationship with our Creator, and we were NOT created to be enslaved but free. 

That is why celebrating Passover acknowledges both freedom from slavery AND the beginning of living a life to honor our Creator by trusting Him and enjoying the fullness of His Creation.

Stewarding Our Time Biblically

The Bible shows us how to manage our time – daily, weekly, monthly and seasonally.  In fact, let me clear something up for you!  God is NOT trying to make your life more complicated!  God has made time easy to understand.  Two-by-two doesn’t just apply to the animals God saved on Noah’s Ark, God uses two-by-two for managing time!  Just like the earth revolves around the sun, the moon and stars are moving, too.  The moon appearing and disappearing, waxing and waning, is the monthly cycle.  To count them becomes a yearly cycle.  And, like the 12 tribes of Israel multiplied Joseph’s tribe into two more, the lunar calendar of twelve months has the last month double periodically.  Now, CAREFUL, we do not believe the ‘heavenly bodies’ have power, nor do we ever worship them!

But, just like we bless God in the morning for the rising of the Son of Righteousness – YESHUA – so we must acknowledge that marking time Biblically by resting when commanded is WORSHIP.  Taking one day off in seven as a SHABBAT rest honors God.  Now, imagine why God would ask us to celebrate a new moon?  What happens monthly on the earth?  Monthly cycles are how humans are given the gift of creating children!  The first day of the lunar month, when the sky is dark and full of stars, is the best time to have fathers take their children outside and look up to the Creator of the Heavens and share the stories of God’s goodness – HIS INCREASE – in our lives.  Isn’t that what Abraham did?  Monthly community celebrations are heralded with silver trumpets in the Bible!

This Friday evening, we will be inviting Zamariah Jackson to join us at the Tree of Life Bible Society Headquarters to share with women about how important being a Daughter of God is today! (Watch this video of Zamariah singing the Aaronic Benediction with her daughters.) In fact, monthly celebrations in Judaism often focus on women fellowshipping on each new moon as a REST day for women. Since we want to follow God, love one another, and live the Bible, we are going to try something new this year!  We are inviting girls and moms and wives and aunties and working women to join us in celebrating this special rest day that the Bible commands us to do – TOGETHER!  Let’s return to letting God manage our time and start the NEW BIBLICAL YEAR out right! You can tune in to this event on Facebook LIVE!

This 1st New Moon, also known as Rosh Chodashim – The Head of Months, gives us two weeks exactly before we celebrate the SPRING Holy Days of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and then the First Fruits at the Feast of Weeks.  I will show you how I keep our family planning schedule focused on living for GOD – not joining the rat race of commercialized secular holidays. Making Rosh Chodesh Meaningful

So, please find a friend to celebrate this 1st New Moon of the year with us – not to worship the moon – but to worship the GOD who created the moon!  Jewish people call the 1st day of each lunar month a Rosh Chodesh (a ‘holy head’ of each month.)  Our theme this month will be ‘Searching Eternity’ and by the 7th month – we will arrive at Rosh Hashana, Yom Teruah, (the ‘head of the yearly’ Jewish return to reading the Bible again and Simchat Torah) by beginning our study of the Book of Genesis!  That is the other Holy Day Season – the Harvest!
