Dear Bill,
If you were able to come visit me in my office in San Francisco, I’d show you one of my “keepsakes” that might surprise you. It’s a bullet encased in glass. I keep that bullet to remind me of Satan’s resentment of my people ... and, even more importantly, of God’s unyielding faithfulness and protection. I collected that bullet in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, years ago when our evangelical musical group, The Liberated Wailing Wall, was performing at the Sunday morning service of a local church.
On Saturday night, we all slept on our bus—and sometime during the night, I heard a loud thump. It sounded like someone slapped the side of the bus. When daylight came, we went outside and found a bullet hole—along with the bullet that remains in my office to this day.
